Retablos and ex votos, sometimes referred to simply
as Santos by their owner, are a form of Mexican folk art introduced
to take the place of Spanish religious art. Serving as devotional
pieces, usually hand painted on tin, Retablos depict patron saints,
while the story-telling Ex-votos depict events, emotions, crisis,
petition, devotion and gratitude for spiritual intervention into
earthly lives. Our screens and cabinets are painted in ex-voto style,
however in the future, we hope to offer a screen of Mexican patron saints.
