" retablos" and "ex-votos"

 

Retablos and ex votos, sometimes referred to simply as Santos by their owner, are a form of Mexican folk art. Serving as devotional pieces, usually hand painted on tin, retablos depict patron saints, while ex-votos tell a story, depict events, emotions, petition, devotion and gratitude for spiritual intervention into earthly lives. Our screens and cabinets are painted in ex-voto style, and we are happy to add this cabinet and screens as well, depicting Mexican patron saints...Santos.
